Name tags for what they mean
A rung is easier to read when its tags say what they are: StartPB, Tank1LevelHigh, FillValve.
Habits that help
- Name a BOOL for when it is 1:
StopOK,DoorClosed,PumpRunning. Then XIC reads as "if". - Use the same ending for the same kind of signal:
PBfor buttons,LSfor limit switches,Valvefor valves. - Put the machine part first so related tags sort together:
Tank1Level,Tank1Valve,Tank1HighAlarm. - Name timers and counters for what they time or count:
MixTime,PartCount. - Add a description to a tag when its name cannot say everything, such as the units.
