Test one scan at a time
Run one scan at a time and watch which rungs change. Most mistakes show up in the first few scans.
A simple test
- Click Reset, then Single Scan. The rungs show power as it was in that scan.
- Turn on Click to toggle bits and click an input contact to change it.
- Click Single Scan again and check each output you expected to change.
- While running, right-click a tag in the Tags table and choose Force… to hold it at a value. Clear forces removes every force.
- Open the Problems tab before you run. It lists anything that stops the program from running, such as an instruction with no tag.
Good to know
- A forced tag keeps its value whatever the rungs write. Clear forces when you are done, or the program will seem to ignore its own logic.
